A child trips and falls on the ground. The next thing he does is look at everyone around him for clues on how his reaction should be. If people rush towards him compassionately saying "aww are you ok!?" He then will see their distress and figure he should be sad, and he begins to bawl for the next 10 minutes. If, on the other hand, they chuckle and continue on, he will brush himself off and continue. Kids always look to adults to know how they should react. Adults are the same. If you tell someone that something will be awkward, it will be awkward. If you tell someone that a party is going to be fun, it will be fun.
